Hot Fuzz

Hahahaha.

This show has the most ridiculous plotline ever. So ridiculous that I have to post it here. From the makers of Shaun of the Dead, it stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent (!) and Timothy Dalton (I thought he looked familiar!!). So the story goes ya: one hot-shot PC from the London Met Force, a bumbling sidekick, an armament of weaponry, a towering giant, seemingly innocent (but are they really) villagers, murders ala Scream Style and a no-holds barred shootout. All this over the Village of the Year award. You gotta watch it to believe it. But as with Shaun of the Dead, all suspension of logic and reality is advised. For a movie set in such idyllic setting- there's surely lots of blood involved.

And Wiki tells me that this is their second film in their "Blood and Ice Cream" trilogy: Each film will feature a Cornetto ice cream.

I'm loving all things Engrand at the moment, with the fabulous The Streets.

Lurve lurve the tongue-in-cheek-lyrics!

Kinabalu Park, Part Deux

Mount Kinabalu was beautiful. On the first day at the National Park, we stayed at a hostel 500 m away. Once we dropped our bags and organized ourselves (or rather Jamil organized us) at the Park, we set out for hikes at the base of the Park. There were a few trails that ranged from a few hundred meters to approximately 2 km. It was quite amazing at how quiet it was- as in, we hiked for close to 4 hours and did not meet a single soul along the way. My favourite trail was the Bundu Tuhan trail. Not very long and a fairly steep hike, we reached the lookout and was rewarded with a beautiful view of the Kinabalu ranges. Although the view may not have been the best that we had during this trip, but because the spot was so isolated and quiet, I felt as if it's my own little patch on a hill. After spending some time admiring the view and contemplating life as one does when on a hill, we made our way down and back to the hostel, right before the heavens decided to pour down on us. I'm a dork, I am!!

Hahaha.. I just discovered my old photos. Taken in Cherating with Gordie, SK, and Ping- 2004, July. I was...26! I love these photos. We drove overnight to Cherating, stayed up whole night to watch the sunrise and waited for the turtles to nest.... while having beer of course. And up to silly antics as usual.. This was the good ol' days before PhD, babies, girlfriends and boyfriends- when we could all still stay up late, and climb coconut trees. And no matter how hard I try- I just could not look not-dorky. I love you guys!
